There has been information/ evidence that Sea vegetation contains compounds which bind with and remove toxins from the tissues of animals and humans. Many of them using seaweed for this purpose already some time. To compensate for using  polluted food, compensate for air, water, land and products. The removal of toxins from there bodies becoming more and more important. Most of it’s activity and ability contributed to alginic acid as present in kelp and other brown type seaweeds.


Alginate is non-toxic and is not reabsorbed into the rest of the body from the gastrointestinal tract. Old Irish tradition.

 

In the old days, many of the Irish folk living in the country side would add a small piece of kelp or other seaweed to the pot before cooking food or vegetables. The quality of water collected at the surface can vary in quality and be easily contaminated. The seaweed would enhance the nutritional value and taste of the  vegetables and bind toxins.
