Seaweed & Algae as food.
An
important fact ,that al life started at the oceans (water), our common origin
and one of the reasons for the fact that seawater has almost the same
proportion of minerals as the human blood. Because the mineral content of sea vegetables is
that high, it might be at the root of
most of their healing properties. Several theories have been put forth
to explain the ability of seaweed to reduce heart disease and hypertension but
the high mineral content of seaweed, particularly potassium, calcium, sodium,
and chloride could be the answer. The
minerals in seaweeds are in colloidal form, meaning they retain their molecular
identity while remaining in liquid suspension. Colloids are very small in size
and are easily absorbed by the body’s cells.

Seaweed as
Food.
Seaweed & vegetables are usually sold in their
dehydrated form and stored in an airtight container in a cool dark place,
such as a kitchen cupboard, they will keep indefinitely at room
temperature. During the low temperature drying the moisture content should be
reduced to 10% or less and the resulting product has a good nutritional
profile. Store it airtight because seaweed might absorb moisture of the
air subsequently loss in quality.

The benefits of
including seaweed's for optimisation of nourishment into a daily diet are
extensive: increased longevity, enhanced immune functioning, revitalization
of the cardiovascular, endocrine, digestive, and nervous systems, and relief
from minor aches and pains. It is no wonder seaweed has been part of the
traditional diet of all coastal cultures, including the people of Japan,
Korea, China, Iceland, Denmark, Wales, Scotland, Hawaii, and the South
Pacific Islands. The Japanese are among the greatest consumers of seaweeds
and many seaweed or sea vegetable varieties are best known by Japanese
and Chinese names. Kelp is known as kunbu or haidai, Pyrphora as zicai.
Seaweed draws an extraordinary
wealth of mineral elements from the sea that surrounds it and can account for
up to 36% of its dry mass. The mineral macronutrients include sodium,
calcium, magnesium, potassium, chlorine, sulphur and phosphorus; the
micronutrients include iodine, iron, zinc, copper, selenium, molybdenum,
fluoride, manganese, boron, nickel and cobalt.

Now it is scientific proven that:
The consumption of vitamins and minerals is essential
to life. They contribute to good health by regulating the body’s metabolism
and assisting the biochemical processes. Scientific research has proved that
an excess of an isolated vitamin or mineral can produce the same symptoms as a
deficiency. The electrolytic magnetic action of the organic minerals and
trace elements releases excess body fluids from congested cells and can
dissolves fatty wastes , replacing them with depleted minerals, particularly
potassium and iodine.
